NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TOWN OF EATON

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law there has been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Eaton, New York, at a regular meeting thereof held on August 3, 2023, proposed Local Law No. B-2023, titled, “A Local Law Extending for an Additional Period of Six (6) Months the Moratorium on the Establishment of Commercial Wind Energy Facilities and Ground Solar Energy Facilities within the Town of Eaton.”  Said Local Law, if enacted, would extend the temporary moratorium on the establishment and/or operation of  commercial wind energy and ground mounted solar energy facilities uses within the Town of Eaton, as set forth in Local Law No. 1 of 2023, for an additional period of six (6) months.  This temporary moratorium will continue to allow the Town to undertake review and comprehensively address the issues involved with commercial wind energy and ground mounted solar energy facilities uses within the Town.  The full text of said Local Law is on file at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Town Offices located at 35 Cedar Street, Morrisville, New York in the Town of Eaton for inspection by all interested persons, and available online at https://www.townofeaton.com/.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on August 3, 2023 the Town Board determined that this proposed Local Law is a Type II in connection with SEQRA, thus concluding the environmental review process.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Town Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed Local Law at the Town Hall located at 35 Cedar Street, Morrisville, New York in the Town of Eaton on September 12, 2023, at 6:15 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, at which time all persons interested will be heard.  The public may mail or electronically submit comments on proposed Local Law No. B-2023 to the Town Clerk at eatonclerk@cnymail.com by noon on September 12, 2023.
