Legal Notice - Public Hearing - Tax exemption for Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Workers

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TOWN OF EATON

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law there has been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Eaton, New York, at a regular meeting thereof held on March 11, 2025, proposed Local Law No. 2-2025, titled, “A Local Law Amending Chapter 170 of the Town of Eaton Code to Enact a Property Tax Exemption for Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Workers Pursuant to Real Property Tax Law § 466-a.” The full text of said Local Law is on file at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Town Offices located at 35 Cedar Street, Morrisville, New York 13408.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on March 11, 2025, the Town Board determined that that this proposed Local Law is an Unlisted Action in connection with SEQRA, determined that the Town Board will act as lead agency in this matter, determined that the proposed action would not have an adverse impact on the environment and adopted a Negative Declaration for purposes of SEQRA.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Town Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed Local Law at the Town Hall located at 35 Cedar Street in the Town of Eaton on April 8, 2025, at 6:05 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, at which time all persons interested will be heard.
